8-17-11 Twilight Bass Trip on the Spectra

8-6-11 White Sea Bass, Calicos and a few lost Yellows at San Clemente
Got back over to San Clemente this past weekend for an overnight trip Friday/Saturday. Turned out to be beyond gorgeous weather. The shirts off, beer and sunscreen weather we have been looking for. Water tempetures got up to 72 degrees in a few places and we had a wide open calico bite up to 8 lbs for everyone on board. Fly lined live squid and sardines for a total of 5 White Sea Bass, 3 big barracuda, 1 big fat bonito and 5 lost yellows and or seabass. We had another great overnight trip on 7/23 to Catalina. We boated a nice white seabass and limits of sheephead for everyone on board. We stopped at half limits of 2-4 lb calicos and released another 40-50 legal fish. We caught and safely released a 10 lb cutie baby black seabass as well.
